The PADI Divemaster Course we offer is meticulously crafted to equip candidates with the knowledge and practical experience essential for securing employment within the Dive Industry. This comprehensive course encompasses PADI eLearning theory, Confined Water, and Open Water Training. Following your confined water training, you'll work alongside our qualified dive crew on day trips and/or liveaboards to the Great Barrier Reef and SS Yongala wreck. Throughout the course, you'll receive hands-on guidance and evaluation from our experienced instructors during pool and ocean dives.
The PADI Divemaster course serves as your initial step into professional training. Collaborating closely with our PADI Instructors, you'll hone your dive skills, refine your rescue abilities, and develop management and supervision proficiencies, thereby establishing yourself as a role model for divers worldwide.
As a PADI Divemaster, you'll assume leadership responsibilities, overseeing scuba diving activities and assisting with diver training. Whether your aspirations lie in working at exotic dive destinations or in your local dive shop, the adventure of a lifetime beckons.
To enroll in the PADI Divemaster course, PADI Rescue Divers aged 18 or above are eligible. Additionally, candidates must possess Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training completed within the past 24 months, along with a medical statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months. A minimum of 40 logged dives is required to commence the course, with certification requiring 60 dives. Certain certifications from other diver training organizations may be considered—consult your PADI Instructor for details.
The academic component of the PADI Divemaster course delves into leadership skills, dive activity organization, safety protocols, environmental awareness, and more. Through a combination of knowledge development sessions, practical exercises, and workshops, you'll acquire the competencies necessary to orchestrate a variety of scuba diving activities.
The course entails an approximate time commitment of 50 hours. As a dive professional, it's essential to possess your basic scuba equipment, including a dive computer, a dive knife, and at least two surface signaling devices. Practical skills exercises will necessitate additional gear, such as compasses, floats, marker buoys, lift bags, and slates, as recommended by your PADI Instructor.
College credit may be attainable for the Divemaster course—be sure to inquire with your instructor. Courses are conducted with a minimum of 2 students, and flexible dates are available to accommodate your schedule.
